Incandescent lamp is a kind of thermal radiation light source, energy conversion efficiency is very low, only 2%~4% electric energy converts to the light that the eye can feel. But the incandescent lamp has the good color, the spectrum is continuous, uses conveniently and so on the advantage, therefore still is widely used.

The filament temperature of a lighted incandescent lamp is as high as 3,000 ℃.
